Here at Thornloe we are committed to protect the Environment and use energy saving light bulbs wherever possible, re-cycle all paper, newspaper, glass, plastic bottles, metal cans and ink cartridges.

We use environmentally friendly cleaning products throughout the house as well as recycled paper.

As well as regular teas and coffees we also offer Fair Trade products and wherever possible use locally produced produce

Towels across the world are washed daily often unnecessarily so we would ask that you re-use your towels. Damp towels can be left on the electric towel radiator in your bathroom to dry. To save energy the towels radiators are on a timer and come on in the morning and evenings.

We monitor our energy consumption and encourage natural wildlife with several bird feeders in our garden. In the summer when our Buddleia is in full bloom it is a mass of butterflies.

If we know in advance that our guests are arriving by public transport we offer to pick them up from the bus or train station or ferry terminal here in Oban.

HOW CAN YOU HELP?

Please switch off the television when you leave the room/go to bed ie not using the remote control and switching off the lights.

Most importantly please check that you have not left chargers plugged in without say a mobile phone attached as this is also a fire hazard.

Leave any unwanted papers/magazines/cardboard/bottles next to the bin for recycling
